New Tools To Boost Experience On Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Sharing is caring!

Salesforce, the world’s top customer relationship management (CRM) company, has announced a series of new developer tools that are designed to help programmers build applications on top of Commerce Cloud.

Now, developers can separate the content from the management and design of the site to allow organizations to change either component independently. To facilitate this, Salesforce announced some enhanced and new application programming interfaces (APIs) to take advantage of features built into the Commerce Cloud platform. The best thing is that developers can take this advantage without having to build things from scratch. For instance, developers can take advantage of Einstein, the artificial intelligence platform of Salesforce, to add elements such as next-best actions to the site, which is a kind of functionality that is generally out of reach of most developers.Developers are generally in a need to connect to other enterprise systems from their eCommerce site for sharing data with these tools. To fill that need, the world’s number 1 CRM organization would take advantage of MuleSoft, the company it purchased for $6.5 billion almost two years ago. Salesforce, using the integration technology of MuleSoft, can help connect to other systems such as product management tools or ERP financial systems and exchange information between the two systems.

Brent Leary, founder at CRM Essentials, remarked this announcement will help developers get access to tools they require for creating the same kind of integrated shopping experiences consumers have grown to expect from Amazon. Leary also commented that these tools provide real-time insights to developers that are delivered at the ‘moment of truth’ for optimizing conversion opportunities and automating processes to improve ordering and fulfillment efficiencies.Salesforce also announced a new Commerce Cloud Development Center to help customers get accustomed with these tools. This center will help developers access a rich community of developers who can share and discuss solutions with each other, Trailhead education resources, and an SDK with code samples. These announcements were made as part of the National Retail Federation (NRF) Conference taking place in New York City this week.
