Elite ‘Fellow’ Certification For Anthos launched by Google

Sharing is caring!

A new elite “Certified Fellow” program has been launched by Google Cloud for senior technical leaders who can help customers transform their businesses through its hybrid and multi-cloud Anthos platform.

Google Cloud has also introduced a new Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer Certification for validating IT workers with the required DevOps skills amid a shortage in the industry.

The Google Cloud Certified Fellow program for Hybrid Multi-Cloud Certification is an invitation-only, new program for technical leaders adept at designing innovative enterprise solutions with Anthos and prominent organizations through adoption of the platform. This is the first-of-a-kind for Google Cloud and the first certification for Anthos as well; it is open to both customers and channel partners.

The new Fellow Program is one step ahead of the current two-level certification program of Google Cloud that includes Associate Cloud Engineers and Professional Certifications.

Rochana Golani, Google Cloud’s director of learning and enablement, remarked Google Cloud is creating this unique and prestigious program to help organizations identify the leaders who can help transform their businesses as they go to this tool. Golani added the goal is really to equip leaders with the right technical skills, knowledge, best practices, as they’re thinking about how to solve the cloud challenges.

Golani also remarked Google Cloud is targeting a different set of individuals and we are also performing an assessment that isn’t based on just technical expertise. It was further added by Golani that there would be a panel interview to assess the ability of understanding the business requirements and creating an architecture design change management that aligns with all of that.

Phil Taylor, the co-CTO at IGNW (a Google Cloud partner and a systems integrator launch partner for Anthos), remarked this new certification goes “above and beyond” Google Cloud’s Professional Cloud Architect Certification. Taylor added this certification is a boot camp-style certification that has the potential of taking professionals through a series of hands-on, technical problem-solving, and business solution development exercises.

Last April, the fully-managed Anthos was unveiled by Google Cloud. It lets customers build and manage apps across environments on Google Cloud, in their on-premise data centres, and on rival third-party clouds, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
