Google Cloud And Informatica Expand Strategic Partnership

Sharing is caring!

Informatica, the enterprise cloud data management leader, has announced that it has expanded its strategic partnership with Google Cloud to boost SAP and BigQuery on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) is now generally available on Google Cloud Marketplace. Informatica Change Data Capture (CDC) will be integrated with BigQuery.

With IICS, an industry-leading, microservices-based Platform as a Service (iPaaS) company, integration of SAP data in BigQuery from on-premises and cloud-based SAP sources would now be developed, deployed, and managed. It also provides SAP customers with a fast, secure way to integrate SAP data into BigQuery.

Snehanshu Shah, Managing Director for SAP at Google Cloud, said: “Businesses are increasingly looking to the cloud not only to run their existing SAP applications but to begin to derive greater value out of their SAP data. We are excited to extend our strategic partnership with Informatica, an industry leader in enterprise data integration tooling, to provide IICS and Data Integration Services to these organizations.”

With IICS available on the Google Cloud Marketplace, deploying and billing are now fully integrated for Google Cloud customers. You can utilize Google Cloud credits to purchase IICS.

With new CDC support for BigQuery, organizations using Google Cloud can easily upgrade their data warehouse with BigQuery, including Informatica’s industry-leading and robust tools. By modernizing data warehouses, organizations can harness cloud analytics projects’ full potential and deliver data-driven insights to make better and faster business decisions.

Informatica Cloud service provides the following main features to support BigQuery as a CDC target:

  1. Ability to change default mapping running mode from batch to CDC. By changing the mode from batch to CDC, users can change their DI mapping behavior to operate in CDC mode only to write converted data to BigQuery.

  2. Informatica Cloud platform does not use storage areas or files for data recovery. The IICS connector develops temporary state tables within BigQuery to ensure accurate data recovery.

  3. Informatica’s new CDC target support automatically inherits the integration capabilities with transformations and expressions available for users to implement their business logic. It enables users to use them in CDC workloads.

Rik Tamm-Daniels, VP, Strategic Ecosystems and Technology at Informatica, commented: “Our strengthened partnership with Google Cloud provides our customers with flexible solutions to power their data-driven digital transformations on Google Cloud Platform. Our joint customer base is growing monthly. We have been working alongside Google Cloud to support our customers and ensure they have the powerful solutions they need to drive innovation.”
