Google Cloud Implements Multi-Year Digital Transformation Initiative

Sharing is caring!

Google Cloud has announced that it has signed a multi-year contract with Keurig Dr Pepper to establish its data presence on Google Cloud.

Beverage giant Keurig Dr Pepper chooses Google Cloud to migrate on-premise data workloads to the virtual machine (VM) hosted on Google’s infrastructure. This will lead to better operational efficiency and scalability of the IT infrastructure.

As companies are always looking for efficient and flexible ways to meet the data needs of their businesses and consumers, Keurig Dr Pepper seeks a forward-looking technology provider that offers stability and reliability.  Thus, the company has decided to migrate all its major technology applications to Google Cloud.

John Gigerich, SVP and CIO for Keurig Dr Pepper, remarked: “Google Cloud is a true partner that gives us the stability and flexibility to support critical business applications needed to drive innovation and ensure business continuity. The migration to Google Cloud has been seamless and was a key project in our merger integration and modernization efforts as Keurig Dr Pepper. We look forward to exploring additional partnership opportunities with Google in the future.”

Keurig Dr Pepper utilized Google Cloud’s Live Migration service that allows enterprises to seamlessly migrate virtual servers from one physical machine to another with minimal downtime. For applications such as SAP, where even a few minutes of downtime can cost tens of thousands of dollars in lost revenue, live migration proves to be extremely important.

Carrie Tharp, VP of Retail & Consumer at Google Cloud, commented: “Data is the fuel to help companies transform their businesses, and those that leverage the cloud will thrive in this new era of retail. We’re thrilled to partner with Keurig Dr Pepper, and we look forward to helping the company reach the next level in its digital transformation journey.”

The agreement with Keurig Dr Pepper will be implemented together with Google Cloud services partner HCL America.
