Salesforce, the world’s #1 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform, has announced that Gavin Patterson has been promoted from his previous position as President and CEO of Salesforce International as the President and Chief Revenue Officer. In his new role, he will be leading and managing the company’s global sales organization.
Marc Benioff, the founder, chairman, and co-CEO of Salesforce remarked, “Gavin’s global experience, network, and public company CEO experience uniquely position him for this critical leadership position at Salesforce.”
In a separate announcement, Salesforce has announced the appointment of Denis Terrien as EVP and CEO of Southern Europe and Stefan Hoechbauer as EVP and CEO of DACH that covers Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Terrien and Hoechbauer will both directly report to Patterson.
Patterson said: “I am delighted that industry executives of the caliber and experience of Denis and Stefan are joining the Salesforce team in the EMEA region. With their expertise and strategic, customer-centric leadership, we are well-placed to deliver our next phase of growth and customer success in these important markets.”
Patterson initially joined Salesforce in 2019 as Chair of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, the fastest-growing Salesforce region. Earlier this year, he was promoted to President and CEO of Salesforce International. Before joining Salesforce, Patterson worked for the British telecommunications company BT Group for 15 years, including being a company’s CEO from 2013 to 2019. Patterson has also held several senior positions at Virgin Media, and Procter & Gamble.
Patterson further added, “In the months ahead, we will remain focused on helping our customers recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, deploying our technology and enabling businesses and public agencies to reopen safely. Our world-class sales organization is built for moments like this, being a trusted advisor able to deliver the full power of Salesforce to help make our customers successful.”
The recent Salesforce recruitment will help companies continue to grow as they adapt their business to the new market demands posed by the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier this month, the company launched a new set of tools called Work.com to help businesses and community leaders throughout the world reopen the workplace as quickly as possible, re-skill employees and respond effectively while maintaining employee safety.
