Salesforce Announces The Acquisition Of Troops.ai

Sharing is caring!

Since its inception, Salesforce has always remained under the radar in the CRM world with its internal innovations and developments further complemented by its acquisitions across various industries.

Recently, Salesforce announced the acquisition of Troops.ai, a bot-based service that connects with Slack to make things easier for sales teams to obtain and update data across Salesforce’s multiple systems, demonstrating a demand for bots.

The acquisition of Troops is expected to close in the second quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2023.

Founded in 2016 in New York, Troops aims to streamline data management processes and provide real-time insights to users that emerged from ‘systems of record’ like Salesforce, HubSpot, and Zendesk, into ‘systems of engagement’ like Slack and Microsoft Teams via software bots.

Dan Reich, Troops’ CEO and co-founder, said, “We’ve been a leader in the industry, working with some of the fastest-growing companies globally, including Salesforce and Slack. We’ve done this by delivering real-time insights from systems of record like Salesforce to systems of engagement like Slack, bringing together information and actions that customer-facing teams need to close new deals and support existing customers.”

After acquiring Slack, Salesforce continues to benefit financially from the messaging platform’s continued popularity. In its most recent financial results, Salesforce generated $7.3 billion in total revenue, up 26% year-on-year, and the company said it expects to contribute $1.5 billion to Slack’s revenue in fiscal 2023.

This acquisition of Troops gives Salesforce the functionality to retrieve and update data from all of Salesforce’s other software systems. According to Salesforce, Troops.ai makes Salesforce and Slack integration easier & smarter and enables better collaboration. Sales teams don’t have to switch continually between Slack and individual Salesforce solutions while collaborating.

With the acquisition of Troops.ai, Salesforce aims to make Slack a cornerstone for the integrated use of its various solutions further.
